A Gentleman's Cologne: created in 1960. Originally named Pour Monsieur, changed to A Gentleman's Cologne in 1967.

Allure: Created in 1996 by Jacques Polge. It is classified as a fresh fruity floral-oriental.

Allure Homme Sport: created in 2004. A casual, brisk fragrance spiked with heightened notes of freshness and sensuality. Dynamic scent to spray generously all over the body.

Allure Homme Sport Cologne Sport: created in 2007 by Jacques Polge. It is classified as a Citrus Aromatic fragrance for men.

Beige: Originally created in 1931 and discontinued within a few years. It was reformulated by Jacques Polge and Christopher Sheldrake and relaunched in 2008, reformulated. Named after Coco Chanel's favorite color. The new version is classified as an intense powdery floral perfume

Coco Mademoiselle L’Extrait: created by Jacques Polge and launched in 2012. A new, fresh and light version of its famous Coco Mademoiselle fragrance to be worn during summer nights.The fragrance is available as perfume extract in bottles of 15 ml at the price of 170 €.

  • Middle notes: May rose extract, jasmine absolute and Florentine iris.

Coco Noir: created by Jacques Polge and Christopher Sheldrake and launched in 2012.

Coromandel: created in 2007 by Jacques Polge. It carries the name of the exotic Chinese lacquered screens. When Gabrielle Chanel first saw them, she proclaimed that she would “faint of happiness” and that she will live surrounded by them. Classified as a rich woody – oriental fragrance

  • Top notes of citruses, neroli and bitter orange. 
  • Middle notes of orris, patchouli, rose, jasmine. 
  • Base notes of musk, woodsy notes, musk, olibanum, incense, Tahitian vanilla and white chocolate.


Cristalle: created by Henri Robert in 1974. Classified as a fruity chypre perfume.

  • Top notes: bergamot, peach, lemon, basil, cumin and hyacinth
  • Heart notes: jasmine, melon, lily of the valley, cyclamen and narcissus 
  • Base notes: oak moss, vetiver, musk, civet, patchouli and sandalwood


Cristalle au Verte: created in 2009, a concentrated Eau de Toilette that reveals a sheer and spirited heart.

  • Magnolia notes are rendered transparent with fresh citrus and Neroli accents, for a new expression of a timeless floral bouquet.


Cuir de Russie: originally created in 1924 by Ernest Beaux. Probably introduced in America around 1936. Named Russia Leather for the American market. Discontinued in the mid 1970s. Reformulated by Jacques Polge and Christopher Sheldrake in 2007.

  • Top notes: Orange blossom, bergamot, mandarin, clary sage. 
  • Middle notes: Iris, jasmine, rose, ylang-ylang, cedarwood, vetiver. 
  • Base notes: Styrax, leather, amber, vanilla.


Cynique: created in 1946 by Ernest Beaux. Discontinued, date unknown.

Eau de Cologne: created by Jacques Polge in 2007.

  • Top notes: bergamot, neroli, lemon

Egoiste: originally created in 1987 and called Bois Noir, by Jacques Polge, relaunched under the name Egoiste in 1990.

  • Top notes: mahogany, Sicilian tangerine, Brazilian rosewood, coriander. 
  • Mid notes: carnation, cinnamon, Damask rose.
  • Base notes: leather, sandalwood, vanilla, tobacco, ambrette seed.


Egoiste Cologne Concentree: launched in 1992, is a richer, fuller, darker and more opulent version of Chanel Egoiste men's fragrance from 1990.

  • Notes of vanilla, spices, leather, palisander rosewood, sandalwood, cinnamon and woody notes.

Égoïste Platinum: created in 1993 by Jacques Polge.

  • Top notes: rosemary, lavender, neroli, petitgrain. 
  • Middle notes: galbanum, clary sage, jasmine, geranium. 
  • Base notes: amber, sandalwood, oakmoss, vetiver, cedar.

Gardenia: created by  Ernest Beaux in 1925. Chanel released face powder scented with the Gardenia essence around 1930. Gardenia seems to have been discontinued around 1966 or so. Gardenia was relaunched in the 1980s together with other exclusive perfumes -Bois des Iles and Cuir de Russie. The reconstructed version is very similar to the original (vintage). Reformulated in 2007 by Jacques Polge and Christopher Sheldrake. Gardenia comes as parfum, eau de parfum and eau de toilette.

  • Top notes: jasmine, gardenia, orange blossom, tuberose. 
  • Mid notes: clove, sage, pimiento
  • Base notes: musk, patchouli, sandalwood, vetiver, vanilla


Glamour de Chanel: created in 1933 by Ernest Beaux, the perfume was discontinued around 1949. It was described as "a piquant and sultry perfume both paradox only Chanel can achieve to bolster you on important evenings." Glamour spawned a small cosmetic line in addition to the perfume, it included face powder and lipstick. The face powder was scented with the Glamour perfume.

Ivoire: created in 1932 by Ernest Beaux. I believe this was discontinued around 1960. Chanel released face powder scented with the Ivoire essence around 1930.

Magnolia: Created in 1927, it was a heavy, opulent perfume. The parfum sold for $12.50 at the time. Discontinued, date unknown. Still being sold in 1937.

1932: created in 2012 by Jacques Polge as part of the Les Exclusifs range. Named to commemorate the year of Gabrielle Chanel’s first High Jewelry collection, “Bijoux de Diamants.” 1932 evokes a dazzling array of diamond stars and comets. Created petal by petal, the soft,woody fragrance expresses an enveloping heart of White Jasmine.

  • Top notes: aldehydes, bergamot, neroli. 
  • Middle notes of jasmine, rose, ylang ylang, lilac, carnation. 
  • Base notes of sandalwood, orris, opoponax, incense, vanilla, coumarin, musk, ambrette, iralia molecule (violet and iris accord) and vetiver.


No. 2: created in 1922 by Ernest Beaux, discontinued around 1925.

No. 3: created in 1927 by Ernest Beaux. Discontinued, date unknown.

No. 5: created in 1921 by Ernest Beaux. Working on creation of this perfume, Ernest Beaux created and for the first time used the synthetic component – aldehydes. In his formula the aldehydes are accompanied by fragrances of rose and jasmine. The fragrance of aldehydes is pure and fresh, reminds of the odor of clean linen just brought in the house form the fresh frosty air. It is said that the famous creator drew his inspiration for creation of this fragrance from one of his visits to the Arctic Circle and the smell of water in midnight. The unique smell of frozen lakes and rivers fascinated him so much that he decided to replicate it in his creation.Chanel N°5 is the first perfume in the floral-aldehyde group and the first by the quantity of aldehydes in its composition (another legend says that the Ernest Beaux's assistant overdosed the aldehydes in the composition by mistake). See the Chapter on Chanel No. 5 for detailed info. Classic aldehydic floral bouquet with a heady fruitiness.

No. 5 Eau Premiere: For Chanel No°5 fans, Chanel launched a new version of the world-renowned perfume – Chanel N°5 Eau Premiere. This modern and seductive fragrance was adapted from the original Chanel N°5 by Jacques Polge. The new version of the 'old' fragrance is lighter, fresher, softer, more delicate, and suitable for every-day use. Chanel N°5 Eau Premiere includes all original ingredients of N°5: rose absolute, jasmine, neroli and ylang-ylang. Ylang-ylang for this fragrance comes from the Comoro Islands, and Jasmine from Chanel-owned fields in Grasse. Chanel No°5 Eau Premiere comes in 150ml bottle (US$125) and will be available at department stores and other Chanel retailers in October 2007.

Number 19 Eau de Parfum: is a floral-woody-green fragrance, a white and green floral harmony. It is a unique blend of light-heartedness and sophistication, not simply a different concentration, but an olfactory reinterpretation, which is faithful to the spirit and base notes of the original composition. Available as 35, 50 and 100 ml EDP. Chanel No 19 EDP was launched during the 1980's.

No. 19 Poudre: created in 2011 This luminous re-imagining of Coco Chanel's signature scent - named Nº19 in honor of her birthdate, August 19, 1883 - reveals a bold fragrance with a daring combination of crisp green notes and powdery iris.

  • Middle notes: jasmine, iris
  • Base notes: white musk, vetiver and tonka bean

Russia Leather: this is the Americanized version of Cuir de Russie, first seen used in 1936, still sold under this name in 1960. A tangy, tantalizing odor originally created to wear with tweeds and sports clothes.

Sweet Pea: created in 1927 by Ernest Beaux. A sweet pea based soliflore perfume. Discontinued, date unknown.

Sycamore: created in 1930 by Ernest Beaux. Discontinued probably in the 1950s and remained unavailable for many years. Reformulated by Jacques Polge and Christopher Sheldrake and relaunched in 2008 as Sycomore. Described as a chypre without oakmoss.
